We provide personalized legal assistance with employment based U.S. immigration matters, including both nonimmigrant and immigrant cases. Clients represented are involved in a broad range of endeavors, including information technology, engineering, consulting, logistics management, scientific research and support, biomedical research and development, academia, professional organizations, heavy industrial services, etc. Nonimmigrant matters handled most typically include H (both cap subject & cap exempt), L, O, P, TN-1 & TD Canadians, and E-3 Australian petitions and visas. Employment authorization for A-2, G-4, and (effective late May 2015) H-4 family members. We also provide assistance with waivers of the two-year home country requirement for subject J-1 nonimmigrants, including both No Objection and IGA based applications.
Immigrant cases are the cornerstone of our practice, particularly PERM labor certification applications, as John Storms has been involved with the Department of Labor permanent labor certification process, both on the government side of the fence and in private practice, since the mid 1970s. Over five thousand DOL labor certification based permanent residence cases have been successfully completed. Other significant practice areas include EB-1 immigrant petitions for Outstanding Professors and Researchers (OPR) and L-1A executives and managers, as well as EB-2 immigrant petitions for National Interest Waiver (NIW) beneficiaries. Family based immigrant and naturalization matters are also handled, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region.
